Escaping the Athenian court, Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius and Helena seek refuge in the woods. It is here that a group of hapless amateurs embark upon a dramatic retelling of a famous tale. The Fairy Kingdom ruled by Oberon and Titania transform, deceive and create mischief among mortals, before finally restoring order to both kingdom and court. Let Berkhamsted Youth Theatre transport you to the playground of the forest folk who orchestrate magic, mystery, mirth and merriment.
Berkhamsted Youth Theatre started in 1988 and since then, has staged over 60 productions. We aim to introduce local young people to all aspects of the theatre; from stage management, set design and build, sound and lighting, makeup, costume and performance.
Our members range from 9-18 years old and whilst the majority choose to perform, we also have young people working behind the scenes in a variety of roles.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s best known comedies and this adapted script allows our fabulous cast of 34 to transport you to a magical realm.
