When her boyfriend, Warner, heads to Harvard Law School and tells her she's not "serious" enough, Elle is determined to prove him wrong. Through hard work, resilience and her own unique style, she earns her place at Harvard and discovers that being yourself is your greatest strength.

Along the way, Elle forms lasting friendships with classmates Emmett and Paulette, overcomes stereotypes and prejudice, and learns that intelligence and confidence go hand in hand. As she outshines those who underestimated her, Elle realises that the law may just be her true calling.
